The Grand Turk is a fully-rigged ship - complete with twelve smooth-bored cannon - built in Marmaris, Turkey based on the 18th Century, British, Sixth Rate Frigate, HMS Blandford, built in 1741. Naval Architect Ron Holland took the historical lines and created working drawings. The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) were involved at all stages of the build program to ensure that, on completion, she would meet the requirements of Class 3 and Class 5 passenger tickets. She was launched in August 1997. Construction is Iroko planking on laminated Mahogany frames but, unlike her predecessor, she has twin Kelvin TAS8 (400BHP) main engines , a bow thruster and 4 AC Generators.
She is MCA Coded for World-wide operation and she has certified passenger capacity for 120.
For day sailing charters, she can have a total of 155, including crew and all staff, on board.
For sailing she has a crew of 16 to 28, for delivery trips under engine she is handled by a crew of twelve.

Sylvina W. Beal
History
Sylvina W. Beal is a knockabout schooner, a type of schooner without a bowsprit. (A spar projecting forward from the bow of a vessel.) She was built with long bow overhangs to allow easier handling at wharves and prevent loss of life at sea caused by men being washed off the bowsprit when furling heavy sails in bad weather. McManus in Essex, Massachusetts first used this design in 1901 when designing the schooner Helen B. Thomas. This design replaced the prominent bowsprits called "Widow-Makers," was fast, and very seaworthy.
The Sylvina W. Beal was built in East Boothbay Harbor, Maine in 1911 at the Frank J. Adams Yard. She was built for Charles H. Beal of Beals Island and named for his wife Sylvina W. (Alley) Beal of Jonesport whom he had married on 17 November 1887. Launched as a two-masted 84-foot wooden fishing schooner, she fished as both a herring and mackerel seiner. She was also used as a seafood cargo carrier until she was converted to a windjammer passenger schooner in 1981. In 2002 she left Downeast Windjammer and Captain Steve Pagels in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, for her new berth in Eastport with Captain Butch Harris. The boat has also been used as a setting in two movies, Amistad(1997) and Age of Innocence(1993).

28 metre Baltic Trader. Ketch rigged.
Built in 1914 in Sweden. She is a beautiful example of her type. Pitch pine on oak frames and a hardwood deck. This boat has been extensively refitted by her current owners and is in beautiful condition. She has a 96 hp BMC SeaLord engine completely rebuilt in 2006. The boat is MCA coded for 15 passengers and has a mixture of 1 and 2 berth cabins. The boat is fitted with a modern galley, suited to cooking for large numbers. Complete new sails in 2007 made by Patrick Selman of Falmouth. All the usual navigation equipment, GPS, radar, VHF etc are included. A full inventory available for interested parties. This boat is currently used for sail charter in Cornwall.
