Perros is a well-maintained and cosy traditional narrowboat used as a liveaboard and for occasional cruising. She is currently located on a residential mooring at Spikes Bridge, Hayes on the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union canal, with use of garden and own shed. The mooring is quiet and pretty and very secure, with secure car parking.
Perros was built in 2004 and fitted out to a high standard by the first owner, stylishly lined with maple veneered ply and oak flooring. She was last out of the water in May 2009, when the bottom was blacked and new anodes fitted.
Heating is by Morso solid fuel stove and Mikuni diesel fired central heating. Water heating is by calorifier from engine, central heating and 240v immersion.
The boat consists of engine room, cabin with double berth with plenty of storage space, full height wardrobe unit and Zanussi washing machine, bathroom with hip bath and shower and Portapotti chemical toilet and radiator. Study with desk unit and shelved storage.
Galley with black granite effect work surface, plenty of storage, full size cooker with grill and oven and Shoreline full size refrigerator. Galley is open plan to saloon which is designed to take free standing furniture which includes sofa and drop leaf table with storage for holding chairs. Morso solid fuel stove and radiator.
The berth is transferable by arrangement. |

Diesel fired central heating system with programmer, running 4 radiators through a twin
coil 13 gallon calorifier. There is also a heated towel rail in the bathroom. This system is also connected to the engine cooling circuit meaning that the engine will heat the
hot water.
240v system: tested and installed to the relevant
RCD standards, brushed stainless double sockets (plus plastic sockets concealed inside the TV unit - no unsightly wires!), can connect straight to shore power. 3000w Inverter with 120 amp charger as standard.
12v System: 4 x 110 amp semi-traction Domestic batteries which are charged by a dedicated
alternator. These are connected to a purpose-built distribution panel, and the system has breakers for all of the appliances. The lighting is a combination of wall lights and halogen down lighters throughout the boat. There is also under gunwhale lighting in the corridor, and step lights at the bow and stern.
Steps from the stern lead down into galley with solid hardwood units and granite worksurfaces. There is a full-sized stainless steel hob and double oven, integrated fridge and washing machine and deep full size stainless steel sink with monobloc taps over. The use of magic corners provides an ingenious solution to the problem of hard-to reach corners. Overhead cupboards and shelving provides further
storage. Stainless steel extractor fan.
Saloon: Large Saloon designed for free standing furniture with a Squirrel solid fuel stove.
32" HD ready TV with DVD and surround sound entertainment system built-in (self tracking sattelite dish intalled in domed housing on roof).
Dining Option included in the Saloon, providing table and chairs for four, cleverly concealed under the gunwhale when not in use (this is not fitted at present but is available to the buyer).
The master bedroom has a fixed Queen size bed with drawers under, overhead cupboards with down lights and cupboards with
drawer at either side. There are also full length wardrobes providing plenty of hanging space.
Bedroom 2 has 2 x single bunk beds and a workstation area to make this a practical, multiuse room.
Bathroom: Vetus electric macerator toilet, vanity unit with hand basin and full wall mirror with
illuminated pelmet over. There is a fully tiled, full-sized corner shower with a mixer unit.
The shower is surrounded by a hardwood glazed screen and door. There is a heated towel rail, and a mirrored cupboard with shelving to provide further storage.
Water tank, approx. 170 gallons, fully baffled, stainless steel.
Diesel Tank, approx. 95 gallons. Pressure tested.
Black waste tank, 47 gallons.
Engine upgrade from the Isuzu 55 to the Isuzu 70
