57ft High Specification Trad Style Narrowboat with collapsible cockpit and exceptionally well equipped. This boat has just undergone reblacking, bow and stern repaint, fender replacement and had another top box added since the photographs were taken.
Engine: Vetus 42hp with 105amp alternator, engine mounted 3.5kw generator, TMC gearbox and Bow Thruster
Quality 10mm/6mm/5mm/4mm steelwork by Hixon, Thinsulate insulation.
Collapsible Cockpit over stern and cratch and cover to the bow.
Professional fit out by Triton with solid Ash tongue and groove to ceiling and cabin sides. Carpet to the floor covering hardwood floor.
Rear cabin with fully removable engine boards, wet locker with light and controls.
Rear double bedroom with 4ft 6in cross bed, 2 bed side cabinets, under bed drawers, fitted wardrobes and Hoover 1200 washer/dryer. Carpet to the floor.
Cabin bathroom with walk-in shower, tiled seat and folding door, vanity unit with inset basin, Thetford cassette toilet and heated towel radiator. Storage space.
Walk-through galley with plenty of storage space. Fitted with Vanette double oven and grill with separate hob, microwave, toaster, George Foreman grill and 12v fridge with icebox. Solid Ash to the floor.
L-shape dinette, converts to double bed, with dining and occasional tables
Open plan saloon with Old Dutch VO4 diesel fired stove, comfortable sofa (single child berth), TV cabinet with flat screen TV, digital CD/radio front storage steps and carpet to the floor.
Specification includes: 12v/240v throughout, 1.8kw Inverter, domestic 240v charger, free-standing petrol generator, landline socket, 3 leisure batteries. Stainless Steel water tank. Hot water via Eberspacher diesel boiler, 1kw immersion heater and engine heat exchanger. Heating via 3 radiators, towel rail, slim-line individual heaters in rear cabin and bedroom and diesel stove. Fitted with nav. lights, smoke and gas detectors, 2 horns and 2 tunnel lights.

Purchased in the summer of 2007, cleaned off, antifouled, new anodes, surveyed and sailed from Holland to the South coast near Portsmouth. Spica's cavernous hold is perfect for conversion and her aft accommodation will provide a cosy home in the meantime.
This fantastic barge is on the market due to a sudden change in work and unfortunately having to move to Asia. She must be one of the best examples of a Dutch barge in the UK if not the best.
Fresh out of commercial commission and still holding her licence to work the Rhine this solid and well equipped barge Spica has had a full systems and dry dock hull survey carried out in Holland this August 07. The survey was exceptional for both the systems and hull with readings over 7mm (photos available).
Spica more than proved her worth on the crossing from Holland with all systems and engines working perfectly; she handled some interesting conditions with aplomb.
Spica has been ballasted with 100 tons of fine-quality sand in metre cube bags (1600 kg bags x 72) to help with the crossing, which will be sold with the boat. The sand has a value and can be sold on or used. Even with these 72 bags the hold is only a quarter full.
Spica comes with full documentation, her tonnage certificate (GN892), SI until 2008 and certification for the A, B & C Zones for the Rhine. She also comes with all existing tools, ropes, lubricants and diesel on board.
Spica is ideal for either:
1. Commercial use. Spica is ready to trade immediately.
2. Conversion to a very large houseboat. Her aft quarters are very comfortable already and would be the perfect base from which to work on the hold without having to camp on the boat (details to follow). She can also be sold with her present mooring.
Spica is currently moored on a good drying mud berth on the South coast of England near Portsmouth. She is rigged for shore power, telephone, broadband internet and water. There is also car parking, shore facilities and refuse removal. Quarterly fees are around £1,650.00. This mooring is on offer with the boat. |

Perros is a well-maintained and cosy traditional narrowboat used as a liveaboard and for occasional cruising. She is currently located on a residential mooring at Spikes Bridge, Hayes on the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union canal, with use of garden and own shed. The mooring is quiet and pretty and very secure, with secure car parking.
Perros was built in 2004 and fitted out to a high standard by the first owner, stylishly lined with maple veneered ply and oak flooring. She was last out of the water in May 2009, when the bottom was blacked and new anodes fitted.
Heating is by Morso solid fuel stove and Mikuni diesel fired central heating. Water heating is by calorifier from engine, central heating and 240v immersion.
The boat consists of engine room, cabin with double berth with plenty of storage space, full height wardrobe unit and Zanussi washing machine, bathroom with hip bath and shower and Portapotti chemical toilet and radiator. Study with desk unit and shelved storage.
Galley with black granite effect work surface, plenty of storage, full size cooker with grill and oven and Shoreline full size refrigerator. Galley is open plan to saloon which is designed to take free standing furniture which includes sofa and drop leaf table with storage for holding chairs. Morso solid fuel stove and radiator.
The berth is transferable by arrangement. |
