Otter is an extended 55ft long, with a 6ft 10 inches beam, narrow boat (10ft professionally installed by Streethay Wharf (LICHFIELD) in 2015 to a very high specification). She has a cruiser stern with a water tight engine bay cover. Recently professionally painted exterior (May 2022) in a classic grey. She was most recently out of the water to be reblacked and had new anodes fitted in late 2021. She is constructed of mild steel and has a flat bottom. Past surveys showed no significant or unexpected degradation in the original thickness of the hull: bottom plate 6mm, Uxter plate 6.0mm, hull sides and swim plates 5.0mm.
The interior is open plan and accesses via freestanding oak steps. On entering to the left is clothing storage, 2 large shelves and a hanging space. The main fuse boxes are located here.
Next to the cupboard is an area that could be converted into a fixed toilet and shower area but is currently where the caravan toilet and more storage is, with floor cupboards and 3 small oak shelves. This section has a window.
Opposite to this is another window with antique hooks under the gunwales. The floor here is painted pine
Carrying on there is a full sized mains electric fridge and fully gas cooker beside a fixed Maple work top. Between the fridge and the cooker is a full sized Belfast sink with brass taps and water pump controller. The Gas water heater is fitted and located here too. There is storage under the sink which is supported on a wooden painted freestanding frame. Opposite the “galley” is extensive shelving under the gunwales - 3 shelves. Providing ample food storage. Under the large maple worktop are 2 large shelves for storage. The flooring in this area is oak
After this area there is a morso wood burning stove (starboard side) with a beautiful tiled area behind. Opposite the stove is a foldable elm table with a fitted single bench seat, also in stunning elm. In the wall beside the table is an opening side hatch, allowing, when open, light and air to flood into the central area of the boat.
There is then space for a living room area where there is a lovely 2 seater sofa. The floor in this area is stained pine. There is an opening clear roof hatch here, again allowing light to flood the boat. Also on the starboard side is another side hatch.
The side hatches are lined in painted pine and the whole boat is painted toung and groove with spray foam insulation.
The bedroom has a fitted double bed and to the front of that, in the bow of the boat, is area is enclosed with bespoke hand made cabin extension, fully water proof with side hatches and externally coated to ensure weather proofing. Beneath this used to be the water tank but that is now a stainless steel tank under (2/3 of) the bed area. The old tank area has been painted and is accessible and can be used for bulky storage.
The boat has windows to the rear with oak frames and sills and towards the front of the boat there are fixed porthole. The windows have removable top sections.
The boat is painted through out in neutral farrow and ball colours.
The gas locker (ample space for 2 gas bottles) is situated at the front of the boat.
The engine bay is incredibly dry and in excellent condition with a fully working engine.
Internally the boat has more head room than most allowing a 6ft 2in person to stand comfortably.
Otter has a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2026
