The ALOA 45 is a cutter rigged ketch, manufactured by Alba S.I.P. Industries, Cannes la Bqcca, France in 1978.

We intend buying a Motor Yacht and would consider part-exchange for a similar size boat.
We have owned her for 30 years. She has been very well kept and all the equipment is in working order. We sailed home from the Mediterranean to UK where in 2010 she had a refit. Odile was completely re-rigged - new bottle screws and turnbuckles (Staylock); the fuel tank was cleaned and fitted with three inspection hatches. New fuel & water gauges were fitted and all ports and hatches (Goiot) were replaced and a Sliepner Sidepower Bowthruster (8hp) was installed.
We then sailed to the Baltic where for the last nine years she has been berthed at Burgstaaken, Fehmarn, Germany. She spends 7 months each year inside a boat storage hall. Odile is currently traversing German Inland Waterways (without masts) and will return to Fehmarn in September. Odile is a strong and powerful boat. Her ketch rig with both a reefing main and mizzen together with a furling staysail means she can be comfortably sailed in most conditions. Her heavy displacement and large tanks enable her to travel long distances in complete comfort.

Wardrobe - Situated on port side and including ample hanging space, shelving and mirror.
On the starboard side there is a door giving access to a spacious head with sea toilet (with a 60 litre holding tank), wash hand basin, and a molded shower tray with pressurized hot & cold water. Storage lockers, shelves, mirror, towel rail, fluorescent light. Forward alleyway leading to saloon.
Spacious and comfortable. On the starboard side there is a U shaped settee with 5 in foam cushions, large lockers behind and below and a large table for 6-8 people. Installed in one of the lockers is a Waeco freezer. On the port side is another sofa which extends to form a double berth and a locker with stowage for bottles and glasses. The saloon has 2 x 240 v occasional lights, 4 x 240 v sockets & 6 x 12 v LED spotlights. Flat screen DVD player and radio.
Aft is the navigational area with a full size chart table with stowage for charts and navigational equipment. Electronic navigation aids are installed close to the circuit breakers and switch panels fitted on the aft bulkhead. The engine room door is located between the companionway and the chart table.
Large with standing headroom. It accommodates the 80 hp Perkins diesel engine, start battery, pumps and water heater, Eberspacher diesel heater, Sterling 50 amp battery charger, Stirling alternator to battery charger and a working bench with vice. Electric & manual bilge pumps, circuit breakers, etc.
On the starboard side, there is the spacious, modern and convenient galley with stowage cupboards, below and above for crockery, cutlery and food.
Double bowl stainless steel sink with drainer and hot and cold mixer taps, a pressurised sea water tap, and a two burner gas cooker with oven and grill with an electric extractor fan above. 2 x 240 v sockets. A large top loading 12 v refrigerator and a full size 240 v domestic washing machine plumbed into ship’s tanks.

Door situated at end of walk through galley on the starboard side. It is a large cabin with a queen size French bed, 5 in. thick mattresses, three bedhead lights, lockers and wardrobe. Opening ports and deck hatch. There is a door to the private bathroom. Beneath the bed is a large deep locker and access to the steering quadrant and auto-pilot control centre.
Owners’ Bathroom. Includes a hip-bath/shower, a large washbasin with pressurised hot and cold water, a sea toilet (with 100 liter holding tank), storage lockers, mirror and fluorescent lighting.
All the above mentioned accommodation is decorated with top quality materials, throughout.
Spacious and clean for easy maneuvering and work. At the bow, a stainless steel bowsprit with teak platform and two rollers suitable for anchor stowage. At the stern is a pushpit with gangway opening, folding passeralle and ladder down to swim platform. Ten 24" stanchions with upper and lower life lines, fairleads and mooring cleats with an anodised aluminium alloy toe-rail providing attachments for sheet blocks. In deck self-draining gas locker.
The 11 foot long central cockpit offers plenty of living space. It includes two long seats, a helmsman seat, the engine instruments panel, a pedestal mounted steering wheel with compass. Five 2 speed sheet winches on rounded bases. Kiwi non-slip deck and teak deck and cockpit surfaces. Folding teak cockpit table. There are two cockpit covers, a large canvas one with opening window and removable sun shades and a smaller lower vinyl one for poor weather.
Hull and Deck - One piece molding of hand laid up GRP/Balsa sandwich construction for extra stiffness and strength.
Hull to deck joint is sealed, through bolted and glassed in. Scantlings are in excess of normal practice. Ballast -Lead, encapsulated. Rudder -Semi balanced type with stainless steel stock, connected to a push/pull steering system. There is a Special fitting for an emergency tiller.
