Description

SARA is a Dutch Ijsselaak built sometime in the 1920’s. She was originally a sailing vessel and was converted to motor in the 1960’s. She was then converted to electrical propulsion by the current owner, the main components of the system are:

1. 4 x 10Kw 48v DC Lynch motors mounted in a fabricated steel frame with reduction Kevlar belt drives onto a single shaft via a Python coupling.
2. 4 x 300 amp 48v 4QD motor controllers parallel up to a single joystick controller.
3. Traction battery bank giving 825AH at 48v.
4. 13 Kw 48v Fisher Panda cocooned generator.

SARA is a lovely boat with lots of character and charm, she has been well looked after by the current owners and would make an ideal live board or just a high days and holidays retreat.
