SB Alice was built in 1954, originally she was built as a lighter and worked on the River Lea to the lower pool of London.
Alice was purchased by Owen Emerson in the mid 90's and reconstructed as a Thames spritsail sailing barge.
Originally she sailed on the north Kent coast and then in 2005 moved to the Solent and was used for chartering.
The current owners moved her back to Kent in 2022.
Alice is registered in the Historic Ships register and is just under 24m which keeps her easier to manage.
Since moving back to Kent, she has undergone many upgrades and refurbishment.

Alice was originally set up for charters, but the current owners have used her as a comfortable home, she could easily be reconfigured and coded for chartering if required.
In the summer months Alice is often seen sailing in the Swale, Medway, Essex and Thames estuary.
She is presently moored in an idillic residential mooring in Conyer, famous for building and operating Thames Barges in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Whilst the mooring is not included in the sale, continued use could be negotiated with the owners of the berth.
