For sale is my modified and refurbished CLC Skerry. The modifications I made were to convert the centerboard (Daggerboard) layout to be off center, made a new board for it and refitted it's trailer. This is a very simple dory form boat that rows very well and is set up for sailing although I have never sailed it.
This boat comes with a wooden mast and a new sail from Jeckels that has never been used.
It has a pair of oars, no engine (it doesn't need one) and a very light trailer that can be towed and used for launching. To the best of my knowledge it is fine for towing in the UK ; all it needs is a lightboard attaching. In Europe it's a different story as the trailer doesn't have back bars/rails which are mandatory there (Europe) to attach a registration plate/light board.
Edit.
To forestall any more questions ; the idea for an off center daggerboard and case was largely inspired by a Skerry owner in the Pacific northwest. He modified his that way except with a pair of side tanks which increased buoyancy more than I have. The basic idea was to be able to roll out a camping mat and sleep on the sole of the boat - he also made a simple tent/tarpaulin as shelter to sleep under. The idea is also taken from the work of the late Phil Bolger who often used off center boards to increase space. Lastly it was discussed with the designer of my last boat (John Welsford) as was the increase in bow buoyancy with a canoe airbag.
