Talisman is a 55 foot traditional narrow boat built and fitted by Colecraft in 1997. She is powered by a 36hp Lister LPWS4 diesel, and is equipped with a vetus bow thruster.
Last blacked September 2025. BSC till 27/10/2027

She is offered with a secluded private mooring (subject to negotiation with marina operator).

INTERIOR

Entering from the bow leads into the living area with Morso Squirrel 1410 stove on newly tiled and fire boarded hearth with twin wall flu. Sofabed barn sofa which converts into double bed. Flooring has been recently replaced throughout.

Moving aft there is a 4 seater dinette adjacent to the duck hatch with drawers and under seat storage lockers below. The dinette can also be converted into a double berth by lowering the table.

Galley has plenty of undercounter storage and is fitted with 4 burner gas hob, eye level vanette oven and grill, 12v fridge freezer, microwave. There is a Houdini deck hatch directly above the galley area.

Moving aft towards the bathroom there is a coat cupboard which also provides easy access to shower plumbing system.

The bathroom was completely renovated in 2024, and now features 760 x 900 shower, large offset sink with vanity unit. Within the bathroom is a full-sized 6kg front loading washing machine. The washer can also be set to cold and be used while cruising or moored alongside without having to run a generator. Toilet is now a Thetford cassette porta potti, as original pump out tank was removed to allow space for the washer.

At the stern of the vessel there is the main cabin with a small double bed and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The engine room leads off the back cabin and up to the steering position with additional coat hooks and the electrical installation.

HEATING / HOT WATER

The Calorifier is sited underneath the bed, which was renewed in 2023.

Heating / hot water is by a 5kw Webasto thermo top evo to 5 radiators throughout the boat. There is also a 1kw immersion heater with 7 day programmer. Optional valves on the system allow hot water and towel rail heating for the summer months where full central heating is not required.

ELECTRICAL

Talisman has 600w of solar fed to Victron Bluetooth charge controllers. Inverter is a 1600W Victron phoenix pure sine wave. Power is from 460ah Fogstar drift lithium battery with Bluetooth app battery monitoring. Shore power battery charging is via a 50 amp Victron bluesmart battery charger, there is also a Victron automatic transfer switch which changes power over automatically when connected to shoreline. An additional battery monitor is located in the galley to show voltage, state of charge etc. The boat is fitted with a galvanic isolator, and has rarely been plugged into mains power as she has been mostly off grid during my ownership.

HULL / SUPERSTRUCTURE

The hull is of 10/6/4 steel construction.
All windows and port holes were removed, painted and resealed in November 2023. All through hull outlets have been replaced with machined brass fittings.

6 new midships anodes, teardrop anodes fitted in tunnel thruster and rudder cup replaced during 2022 dry dock 3 coats of international blacking applied.

2 new stern anodes and 3 coats of international blacking applied 2025 dry dock.

Last out of water survey August 2022 showed minimal degradation of hull thickness. This report can be seen upon viewing the boat.

ENGINE

Current engine hours 4750

Last service 4700 hours and the following work has been carried out:

New thermostat & cooling hoses feb 2023
Injectors overhauled November 2022
Head gasket replaced, new hydraulic tappets, cylinder head skimmed November 2022.
New fuel hoses, spill rail and lift pump November 2023
New 70 amp alternator and belt January 2025.

Misc

Warps, fenders and windlass’ are included in the sale, 4g wifi router and antenna will also be included.

Viewing by appointment, boat is located near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
