Belgarath No. 4 has been near fully refurbished. Permanently moored in Sawbridgeworth. Flooring consists of varnished reclaimed scaffold boards throughout the saloon and walkway and new Marine ply overlain with carpet in both bedrooms. Two double beds make this a 4 berth boat - scope for 6 with sofa bed in saloon if desirable. The new flooring is lower than the original, creating more headroom – helpful as I am 6ft 4”. A Morso squirrel wood/coal burner has been installed with back boiler and radiators throughout the vessel. A 55l twin coil surecal calorifier was installed in 2023. The interior and exterior have been fully re painted. The hull was blacked in June 2023 with ultrasound check of hull confirming consistent steel width matching the last survey in 2016 and no pitting whatsoever. The engine was last serviced in April 2025 and new starter motor installed.
The mooring is less than a minutes walk from Sawbridgeworth station (40 mins into Liverpool Street) and a few mins walk into the town centre. The new junction 7A on the M11 is also a few minutes drive. This is a riverside mooring with electricity, water and sanitation point. The mooring is essentially a small island of 20 or so boats with its own little community, is gated and not open to the public with plenty of parking space. Transfer of mooring is dependent on approval.
