We are reluctantly selling our 70ft x 12.6ft Collingwood widebeam, Aurora. She has been very well maintained including a new Webasto thermo pro central heating unit. Fully fitted kitchen including fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, oven & grill, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Breakfast bar/island, dining area/lounge. Small bedroom big enough to fit a double bed and wardrobe. Fully fitted bathroom with shower, vetus 12v macerator toilet, washbasin and fitted cupboards. Front room which we use as a lounge area but could be used as a larger bedroom with double doors opening onto front deck.
The aft deck has ample room for garden furniture and a small shed, there are also two gas lockers which will easily hold 13kg cylinders.
Aurora is entered through double doors leading from the aft deck. This leads into the kitchen area which has ash worktops, pale grey doors and wooden flooring. There is also an area that we use as a dining room with a small seating area but is roomy enough to use as a lounge/diner. A corridor leads to a small bedroom, although this big enough to hold a double bed and a wardrobe, we have a hanging rail and shelves. Next to the bedroom is the bathroom which has a shower, toilet and washbasin, heated towel rail and ample fitted cupboards. The front room which most people use as a master bedroom we prefer to use as a separate lounge. This has double doors leading to the front deck which has a rope locker with an anchor. She is fitted with a full central heating system with domestic style radiators powered by a Webasto diesel heater (new January 2025). She is fitted with 3 x 110amp/hour lead acid leisure batteries which are kept charged by a sterling pro-charge ultra battery charger. She also has a 1.8kw sterling quasi sign wave inverter and an Aquafax 16A galvanic isolator. She was built as a residential boat for the first owner (we are the second owners) and therefore has never had an engine fitted, this leaves the engine room as a roomy storage area which is what we use it for. We had her towed to our mooring but our local marine engineer has said they could fit an engine for approximately £10,000 including shaft and propeller. She had six new anodes last year even though they had plenty of life left in them.
Our mooring is in a boatyard in Brightlingsea, Essex (they are happy to let her stay there but would like to meet the new owners first) among half a dozen other liveaboards.
We have been very happy with Aurora but feel as we are getting older it is time to move on. We have the owner’s manual and all the information we were given when we bought her 4 years ago, including all the info on the kitchen equipment etc.
We would be happy to answer any questions and viewings are very welcome.
