"Shepherd Lass" is officially on the market! She is a traditional, purpose-built carvel passenger boat combining timeless character with proven commercial capability. Currently lying in Cardiff, Wales, UK, she is a fantastic opportunity for tour operators, charter businesses, or fleet expansion.
Current Passenger Certificate has lapsed for this season but can be renewed for 2027.
Work required by MCA includes removal of sacrificial planks to check wood/hull condition underneath and they also requested paint stripped off the hull.

Construction

Unlike many vintage wooden commercial vessels, Shepherd Lass has not been doubled up. Maintenance has been handled properly through true timber replacement:
Hull Maintenance: Features an extensive past refit including a full replacement of the chine strake all the way around the hull, alongside an out-of-water survey inspection.
Rib Replacements: Structural oak ribs have been systematically renewed (including documented rib sections 7, 9, and 12 certified by the MCA).

Equipment

The vessel sells fully equipped to meet rigorous safety compliance structures:
Lifesaving: 4x lifebuoys SOLAS inherently buoyant lifejackets
Fire Safety: Insulated engine box with a dedicated extinguisher connection , and multiple multi-class portable extinguishers as required.
Electronics & Navigation: ICOM VHF radio facilities , a 12V electrical infrastructure , 4x electric bilge pumps , and an onboard standard magnetic compass.

Engine: Reliable Perkins M92B 4-cylinder marine diesel (64 kW / approx. 90Hp), installed in 2009.
Engine Hours: ~5,500 hours
Gearbox: Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission
Propulsion: Stainless steel shaft driving a fixed-pitch propeller, installed in 2002.
Steering: Hydraulic system supplemented by a hand tiller.
Recent Upgrade: A new bow thruster tunnel has been installed to significantly improve tight-quarters manoeuvrability. The vessel also has a spare propeller.
