The Corby 25 is a fast sailing racing boat built and designed to sail with great upwind and downwind performance easy to lift out with a single lifting point, conveniently trailerable.She is very stiff, holding all sails up to 20–knots true wind, she can achieve an apparent upwind angle of about 17 degrees and therefore has the ability to sail higher than most of her competitors. "Eclipse" (formally "Tribal") is not your standard GRP production boat. It was custom-built by John Corby himself in the UK in 2000 from cedar strip and epoxy making her lighter and stiffer than the subsequent production models. This 2000-built boat had a new inboard Yanmar 1GM10C (2020) engine with a two-blade folding prop completely disassembled, serviced and rebuilt Spring 2025, new marine battery 2025. New gaiters fitted Spring 2025. The hull and topsides were taken back to gel coat and wood and professionally spray primed and hard racing antifouled in June 2020 at a cost of €13000. She comes with a new mast (2024) with Flicker, 2 new (never used) UK Sailmakers (2023) spinnakers (light and medium), Quantum main and assorted genoas, and a new two-grooved Tuff-luff forestay. She has new standing and running rigging fitted in 2021, deck gear is mostly Harken and also comes with a twin axle RM galvanized road towing trailer with new, wheels and tyres, a new hitch and brakes fitted in 2022 and serviced Spring 2025.
