Poachers Moon is a beautiful narrow beam Dutch barge style narrowboat, complete with a collapsable wooden wheel house and cruiser stern deck. She was built in 1999 by Dave Thomas and fitted out in oak faced ply and carpet throughout by Corbett Narrowboats.
She had a hull condition report in April 2011, and was last blacked in October 2024 along with a full repaint.
The cruiser stern deck is 8’6”, with the Beta 50hp engine (with hospital silencer) housed below. This was last serviced in Summer 2024.
The wheel house is 7’0”, with glazed windows all around, and can be dismantled in around 5 minutes. Under the deck is a large space for storage, plus a 24v freezer. Navigation can be controlled by a tiller on the stern deck, or wheel and controls in the wheel house, and aided by a Sliepner 7hp bowthruster.
Steps lead down, into the 9’0” bedroom. Here is a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, small TV, large wardrobe, and some cupboards over the bed.
Next is the off-corridor bathroom, with a sliding door, tile lined shower, composting toilet, ceramic wash basin, Zanussi washing machine, and a spare Thetford Porta Potti. A starboard side hatch in the corridor brings in additional light and fresh air.
The midship galley is 7’10”, with a Vanette oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, 24v Shoreline fridge, microwave, composite sink, and plenty of cupboards and drawers.
Following, the 13’0” saloon features 2 captains chairs with matching foot stools, a Villager solid fuel stove, 32” JVC 240v TV with freeview box and DVD player, and more cupboards. A port side hatch in the corridor brings in additional light and fresh air.
The U-shaped dinette sits across the bow, with side hatch style doors looking out. There is storage under the seats, and the demountable table can drop to convert into a spare double berth. Both of the side hatches and bow doors have acrylic and fly screens.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system connected to 7 radiators, and hot water is via the engine or Eberspacher.
There are 4x 12v domestics, 1x 24v domestic, 1x 12v starter, and 2x 24v bowthruster batteries. These are topped up by 460w of solar with an Outback MPPT solar charge controller.
240v power is via a 3kw Victron Multiplus inverter/charger, or landline with a galvanic isolator.
Lighting on board is a mix of halogen and LED.
