GENERAL
Teal is a very special boat/Drascombe. She was built for her owner with special permission from the Watkinson (Drascombe) family in 2011. Built to a very high standard by Charlie Hussey a marine carpenter with lovely detailing and using the best materials available. She sails beautifully and is remarkably fast! (I’ve raced against her in Old Gaffer Association events!)
She differs from the other Drascombe Peter Boats built by the Elliot Brothers in the early 1980’s by being compliant with the Recreational Craft Directive (Category C for 3 persons), she also has a boom, a foiled plywood centreboard and no outboard well. (Which would flood while beating!). She has always been stored in garage and is still in beautiful condition.

SPECIFICATION
Constructed of Robbins Super Elite marine plywood (The best you can get!) and epoxy resin. Hardwood trim is African Mahogany. Hull is epoxy coated and finished in dark blue 2-pack paint. The inside is varnished in Epifanes with a matting agent to prevent glare.

RIGGING
Un-stayed balanced lug on. Mast, boom and yard are nicely varnished spruce.

SAILS
Main Tan with slab reefing.

ENGINE
Has never had an engine fitted – though it would be quite easy to mount one off the rear quarter.

EQUIPMENT
Oars and rowlocks, New blue acrylic overall cover may 2024.

TRAILER
Indespention combination road trailer with spare wheel. New axle, wheels and tyres fitted in 2022. Included are a set of spare wheel bearings
