Ardrossen North Ayrshire UK
A rolled steel sloop, Midnight Light was designed for longer distance sailing (see map photo). I have sailed her to northern areas including: Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Eastern Baltic States. She is a very good sea going boat, comfortable under sail. Her cockpit is well protected by the low 2 berth aft cabin. Her sails, made by North Sails, have been used for 2 seasons only and are in very good condition. The engine, a 36hp Bukh, has ample power and was removed and reconditioned 3 seasons ago. She is a very comfortable boat below with spacious living accommodation and excellent stowage. This is a go anywhere boat, in which I have had some very enjoyable voyages but it is now time for me to move on, I will miss her dearly.

Bukh 36hp, taken out and reconditioned 3 seasons ago. It is situated low in the keel adding greater stability to the boat under sail. Despite it's position maintainance parts e.g. filters, are readily accessible. The engine motors comfortably at 5 knots on low revs and has plenty of extra power when required.
A rolled steel construction on a steel frame, fully insulated with sprayed foam. The decks are also steel giving stronger overall structure to the boat. The mast is deck stepped with a compression pole below to the keel.
Midnight Light is fitted out in wood giving a warm and comfortable feel to the accomodation. She has a double berth cabin up forward, another berth in the saloon and two single berths in the aft cabin. There is full standing headroom throughout the main accomodation and full sitting headroom in the aft cabin. The galley is well equipped with two sinks, one fresh water and one for sea water, if required. There is a built in fridge compartment and a gas stove with 3 burners and an oven. A calorifier provides hot water at the sink when the engine is run or when plugged into mains. The hot water also feeds to the shower in the heads. The boat is equipped with a diesel Eberspacher central heating system which due to the boats insulation is very efficient. The hanging locker is situated on the stb side where there is also a library area. ML has two safes aboard and a 'secret' cash compartment. The chart table is full chart size and can/does accomodate hundreds of charts within the table. The saloon table is fixed with seating for 4-6. There is plenty of stowage space in the saloon, under all the berths and under the cockpit.

The sails were made by North Sails and have been used for 2 seasons only. The previous sails are in usable condition and will come with the boat. There is also a spinnaker and pole, a trisail and a storm jib. The mast is deck stepped with 6mm s/s rigging. There are steps up the mast making climbing the mast more practical.
The boat is well equipped for safe and reliable navigation. The Raymarine C80 hardware was updates in 2019 allowing for all new Navionics charts to be uploaded. The entire UK electronic chart 2019 version is included with the C80. The ships magnetic compass is in need of being re calibrated but is in usable condition. The Raymarine electronic compass has been primarily used. The forward facing sonar is very useful both for giving depth and objects in and under the water.
