Here is our 27 Folkdancer up for sale. She is 27ft with a beam of 7’-5”. She currently based within the Poole area .
Some information around the boat:
Made in 1965 in the UK and has obviously had work done along the way to keep in good condition. On the Electrical side both battery’s have only be brought this year and both are in a healthy condition, the boat comes with a garmin plotter as well as a working depth gauge and a wind vein. The speed through water we are unsure if this works but the casing is there if someone wanted to change. It has a working VHF which gets good range as well as usb and 12volt sockets for charging. It has an electric bilge pump with both manual and auto as well as a physically manual pump at the aft of the cockpit. Lights throughout the boat so is well lit. It has a working shunt system on the domestic side showing voltage, amps drawn and watts. We also have a 4amp charger that will come with the boat just to keep both batteries healthy.
All teak has been stained and sanded back to bring it back to life as well as a repair has been carried out on the tiller arm and is now looking as good as new. Boat has been cleaned now a couple of times and looks good for its age, but does have age related marks. But as an overall the boat is in good condition and sea ready. She berths 4 and offers seating inside and out as well has a new gas stove onboard for cooking. The storage inside is endless, all panels pull up one way or another othering Multiple storage locations everywhere through the boat. As well as 2 pull out chart tables above the port and stbd aft quarters offering loads of space for charting routes.
A lot of the rigging was done not so long ago just before we brought it so the ropes are in good condition as well as the sail is in good condition, which has the name of the boat down the side which is a nice touch. Conventional spinnaker with pole and attached eyelets on deck for it to be mounted away when not in use . 2 winch’s in the cockpit as well as an auto furling jib leading to the cockpit. The anchor is stored under the forward cabin bed. The engine only has 58 hours and has been painted a lovely bright red.
The main sail remains crisp and light, with three reefing points for stronger weather. It shows no use marks on reefing points and has red numbers matching other sails.
The jib sail luff edge shows most wear because it’s rolled up on the self-furling jib and exposed to the elements. I planned to get a cover made but haven’t got around to it. Despite this, it’s still a really nice sail and crisp.
The conventional spinnaker is super clean and tidy. It’s almost unused, making it a great downwind or reaching sail.
Sail are in great condition and believe they must only be 5/6 years old with sum small marks but nothing that will impact performance just a wipe clean if you so wish. Sails all made by W SAILS in Essex with I believe the owner before last
Pole is in great working order with no sine of damage or corrosion especially round eyelets.
Boat is a great sailor for one person or 2 with all sheets and rope leading to cockpit.
As an overall the boat is in good condition, and just needs a new owner. Any questions feel free to message, open to offers.
