Gallichan is a 46’ 9” Watson class lifeboat. She was built by Groves & Gutteridge of Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1955 and was commissioned as RNLB Greater London II.
Her hull is mahogany double diagonal construction on oak frames.
She is powered by twin Ford Watermota Sea Lion 70 HP diesels with 27” propellers cruising at 7.5 knots at 1100 rpm
After service as a lifeboat at Southend and Beaumaris she was sold out of service in 1991 and her first owner carried out extensive but sympathetic modifications to make her comfortable for family cruising.
We have owned and maintained GALLICHAN since 2015 cruising the south coast of England.
She is a very capable craft on the National Historic Ships register with many years remaining service life. She will of course need time and effort to keep her in this condition and we would like new owners to be able to do this hence the modest asking price.
Viewing her is a must !
