NOW SOLD - ANOTHER BOAT SOLD BY NARROWCRAFT AT ALVECOTE
Carnaby is a Lovely ex GUCCCo carrying craft shortened by BW and still in maintenance trim.
Benefits from tidy condition, new bottom and steelwork by Steve Priest, including new rudder tube and overplated knees.
The lister HR2 was rebuilt by Dave Ross and delivers more than enough power for the boat to handle commercial activity.
Camping style conversion of maintenance day cabin which is roomy inside and opens out into the hold area, this creates a useful outdoor space. Ideal for sitting in, bbq or outdoor cooking and entertaining.
Inside the side bed converts to double bed in the evening and with the boatman stove installed is a cosy space.
The old rope locker (accessible from the hold area) makes for a separate toilet room but is large enough and could be converted to wet/shower room.
A charming "go anywhere" historic boat
There is also a doorway now cut through, linking the engine room to the living accommodation cabin.
Carnaby really is a very low maintenance (ex-maintenance) craft. She is easy to handle and offers owners the ability to enjoy the charms of owning a historic craft knowing that there is no major spend going to be required for considerable time. The paintwork is easy to maintain, very little brass to polish, no wood to rot!
Carnaby is the ideal boat to use to explore waterways that you haven't been to. She can be very well secured and left without attracting attention as she blends in as canal maintenance craft and her size enables her to navigate the entire system and turn easily. There is more space than in a conventional back cabin and historically there are very few craft left that retain their maintenance cabins and appearance.
Equally Carnaby would be ready to work as a tug or commercially for canal maintenance.
