Mustang 30 built by Harley Racing Yachts in 1997, Berthed in Cowes Isle of Wight. Currently called “Dogs that sulk” was Haggis 2 and Addict 2. This particular boat was constructed as the boatshow boat with dark blue topsides and white deck.
She has a proctor deck stepped mast and boom. There is a full suit of Crusader Carbon Sail. Two Kites and a Code Zero.
Equiped for racing with a full set of spinnaker and jib sheets together with spares, Soft shackles spliced into the jib sheets. She has Barton adjustable jib cars and a main sheet track across the cockpit with fine and coarse controls. Finally she has an adjustable back stay that can be lead forward to the mainsheet position if needed.
Electronics wise she has Raymarine/tacktick wireless wind speed/direction boat speed and depth, a Garmin GPSMAP 172C with chart card and ICOM M330 DSC VHF.
Propulsion comes from a Yanmar 1GM10 driving a folding prop on conventional prop shaft with morse control in the co.
Down below she is definitely a racing yacht but she does have a small galley with hand pumped water, two sinks and an origo spirit stove.
There are berths for 6, two either side of the cockpit, two saloon berths and a forward v Berth. Most of the cushions and seat backs are stowed ashore and there is a new set of fabric covers and lee cloths ready to put on.
Up forward with the V berth is a jabsco marine heads, both seacocks are nylon avoiding corrosion.
The Mustang MK was built with a flat transom, a deeper keel with small bulb and an improved IRC rudder form.
These boats are great fun to sail and love sailing downwind in a stiff breeze, beating many bigger boats. Her sister boat won class in Cowes Week this year. Either as a fast weekend cruiser or round the cans racer this boat represents great value and is only for sale due to work commitments, I’m a professional sailor and seem to be getting less time to sail our own boat.
