"Tangaroa" is a Humber Keel Barge - 20.5 metres long and 4.3 metres wide, with a hull made of steel. An extensive fit out and refurbishment was completed in 2004 - to a very high standard - and she has been well maintained since. The last out of water survey was in December 2021 when the vessel underwent routine checks. The accommodation comprises a large open plan saloon and galley with two double cabins. One cabin has an en suite bathroom and the other has an adjacent shower room. The bathroom has a full size bath with a shower over it, a vanity unit with stainless steel basin and Vetus electric flush toilet. The shower room has a cubicle with glass door, a wash hand basin and a Vetus electric flush toilet.

There is a separate wheelhouse and full standing-height engine room. The timber boarded top deck over the full area of the deckhouse has a teak handrail and 1m high steel stanchions, with stainless steel lifelines. A canopy, supported on a tubular steel frame, covers over 50% of the top deck.

She is moored on a leisure licence on the river - beside the popular and highly desirable Chelsea Harbour and has access to all facilities there, including on-land toilets and showers. She is well placed for a wide range of local amenities and public transport, so would make an excellent pied-à-terre. The Chelsea Harbour area is a tranquil haven from the buzz of the city but close to Imperial Wharf national rail station which links to the tube. This provides direct rail links with Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, as well as Southern services to Milton Keynes Central and East Croydon. There are bus services including bus route C3 which links Chelsea Harbour with Earl's Court, Fulham and Clapham Junction.
