Description

Sí Gaoithe is a solid and safe cruising vessel. Being a bilge keel she enjoys a 1m draft so can access shallow waters and dries out upright and effortlessly at low tides.
She enjoys an unusual feature of a self-tacking jib with all lines running back to the cockpit. This greatly simplifies sailing and make her suitable for single-handed sailing if required. The modern open plan saloon is bright and makes the most of the interior space. She is moored at Ros a' Mhíl marina in Conamara, Co Galway. These marina berths are much sought after and it may be possible for the new owner to retain the berth if required. The berth is served with water and electricity making working on the boat a simple affair.
The location of the marina leaves the Aran Islands, Inisboffin, Roundstone, Clifden and Galway City within easy reach.
There are two joint owners. Both are qualified Yachtmasters and have much experience of skippering yachts in Ireland and abroad. One of the owners is mechanically adept and has maintained the engine to a high standard, regularly changing the oil etc.

A boat share may be an option.

Accommodation

5 berth. Two in aft cabin. One each side of saloon. One for'd in extendable berth. Realistically, four is a more comfortable figure for an overnight stay. The heads has a sink with shelved storage under and a mirror.

Construction

GRP. Self-tacking jib (foresail) with all lines running back to cockpit. This makes for easy handling and is suitable for safe solo sailing. Sí Gaoithe is a safe and solid cruising yacht.

Equipment

New oven and two-ring gas cooker 2019. Jabasco sea water pump-action heads. Sink and cool box with storage underneath. Oodles of under seat and for'd storage. Plough anchor and 20mt of chain. Fenders and warps. Mooring lines. Starter and deep-cycle leisure battery. Sprayhood. Recently refurbished dinghy and Yamaha 2 HP OB may be included at an additional cost.

Navigation Equipment

Depth sounder. Autohelm (needs to be wired up). I use Navionics App on my tablet for navigation.

Engine(s)

Yanmar GM10. New engine installed 2004. Regularly maintained since. Comfortable cruising speed 5 knots. In wind-free conditions I've motored to Dingle from Galway in 15 hours.

Sails & Spars

New mast and rigging, fixed and running, fitted in 2014. New foresail 2018.
