Moonlight No 2 is a charming 57’ go-anywhere traditional stern narrowboat built in 2002 by Nantwich Boatbuilders, on a Jonathan Wilson hull. She is fitted out with ash faced ply with ash trim to the ceiling and cabin sides, and carpet to the hull sides, and a mix of vinyl and carpet flooring.
She has been well prepared for sale, with a number of upgrades and new items, and benefits from blacking in June 2021. There is also a survey available to view from 2016.
A canvass cratch cover was added in 2018 incorporating zip opening windows to the front & sides. This covers the 4’3” well deck, and is the pole variety, tailor made to make it easier to stand up when covered. Seats with useful storage lockers sit either side.
Glazed forward doors lead into the 11’3” saloon, with a large 3 seater sofa bed, new from Sofabed Barn in 2021 (converts to spare double), Stovax multi fuel stove, stereo with 2 speakers, and a range of cupboards and shelves.
The 7’2” galley is next, in a horseshoe arrangement, with a Vanette oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, Indesit mini dishwasher, stainless steel sink, Shoreline 12v fridge with icebox (new 2021), built in glazed cupboards with lights under, and plenty of storage options. A port side hatch, with a screen, brings in additional light and fresh air.
The dinette follows, comfortable at 6’6”, and easily converts into a second spare double, so she comfortably sleeps 6. The forward bench cleverly wheels forward to reveal a Zanussi washing machine behind.
A corridor leads on to the bathroom, with a set of storage boxes along the port side. The 5’7” bathroom contains a rectangular shower with glazed door, ceramic basin, brand new and unused Thetford cassette loo, and a few cupboards and shelves.
The bedroom, large at 9’ 10”, features a 6’5” x 4’0” fixed double berth with two large drawers and further storsger under, a large double wardrobe, and a series of well designed cupboards making greatest use of space over the bed. There are also 2 more storage boxes along the starboard side.
Storage steps lead into the engine room, with heaps more storage space. The Beta 43 engine is housed below insulated boards, making it very quiet from the stern, and sits on new engine mounts as of 2020. The engine will be serviced prior to sale. Another step leads out onto the stern deck.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel system (new in 2021) connected to 4 radiators, and hot water is supplied by the Eberspacher, engine or immersion.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 5x 110ah domestics, topped up by 330 watts of solar, and 1x 110ah starter. 240v power is supplied by the Mastervolt Combi inverter/charger.
The lighting is LED throughout.
Whether its moonlight cruising in the evening or sun-lit days you’re after, Moonlight ? 2 is ready and waiting for you.
