Blue Horizon is a Maxi 1050 performance cruising yacht built in Sweden by Maxi Yachts International AB to a design by Pelle Petterson and launched in 2005. Her hull number is 154 and her Hull Identification Number is SE-MAXL0154A505. She was built with the very important 28hp engine option for then UK agents SD Marine who commissioned her on the Hamble before selling her to her first owner who took her to Germany. She is UK registered and has a UK VAT certificate dated April 2006. She was sold to her second owner who returned her to the Hamble in 2007 and then to me, her third and current owner, in 2019 when I berthed her at Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, and since 2022 at Mylor Yacht Harbour, Cornwall. She has the classic Maxi dark blue hull which was painted 2024 and so is free from fading for many years to come.
In my opinion she’s a near perfect boat for her size, suitable for single or two-handing, or for sailing with a crew. She’s a very comfortable, fully equipped luxury cruiser for everything from day sails to longer cruises, but is also a very quick passage maker for longer adventures. I’ve raced her very successfully in COGS - the Cornwall Offshore Group Series - winning the six-race offshore series fully crewed in 2024 and again two-handed in 2025. She was COGS Top Yacht in 2024. Don't be put off - passage racing is no more wearing than cruising and ensures that maintenance is never skimped with everything kept in excellent working order.
Mylor Yacht Harbour mooring is available for transfer to purchaser.
