These Moodys are exceptional little yachts and I have sailed her extensively in all conditions ,from coastal hopping round the Cornish coast to club racing and a few trips to the Scilly isles . She is very comfortable and capable and very easy single handed with the in mast main .

Miss Moody comes with a full history and detailed logs of all works including 2 surveys the most recent in 2023 . She has had many upgrades to bring her up to date and fully maintained her whole life and is ready to go.

The Moody 27 is a small family cruiser that is easily handled and fun to sail. A great way of getting out on the water at a very reasonable price. Miss moody is a sound example that benefits from new in mast furling main sail .new spray dodger and full cockpit enclosure. New teak cockpit floor

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to five berths with good ventilation and natural light throughout. In the forecabin, there is a V berth with an infill to make a double. Good stowage provided by eye-level shelving and underneath the berth. Opening hatch to the deck. Moving aft into the saloon, there are two single settee berths, either side of a removeable saloon table. The L-shaped galley is to starboard, comprising of a gimballed gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven. Stainless-steel sink with a manually pumped cold water supply. Top opening cool box. Quarter berth to aft of the galley. The separate heads compartment is opposite to starboard with a Jabsco marine toilet, washbasin with a manually pumped cold water supply and a small hanging locker. Blue upholstery throughout. Blue curtains.

Mechanical Systems

Located behind the companionway stairs is the Volvo penta 2002 18hp marine diesel engine that has been regularly serviced including new engine mounts new PSS shaft seal new diesel tank and fuel system , naturally aspirated. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Shaft drive to a two-blade fixed prop. Single lever controls. Electric start. Approximately 60 litre plastic fuel tank securely fitted in cockpit locker. Approximately hours on the engine unknown but very reliable.

Construction

Built by Moody in 1985 to a design of Bill Dixon. White GRP hull with blue styling stripe. White GRP deck and superstructure with a grey non-slip coating. Cast iron twin keel. Tiller steering to a transom hung rudder.
