E5 9BL London UK
Lovingly rebuilt over the last 8 years the Pied Piper is the perfect home on the River Lea. She is designed to liveaboard, is very easy to cruise but you don't have to keep moving as the mooring in zone two that can be transferred by agreement.
The superstructure and internal fit-out have been completely rebuilt from scratch and she is ready for a new owner to move straight in. If I could keep her forever I would but its time for me to get a sailing boat.
She has brand new 12V fridge and LPG cooker with a grill, oven and four rings. There is hot water in the kitchen and bathroom from an LPG boiler which was bought and fitted three years ago and checked for safety this summer. There is a Morso Squirrel multi-fuel burner which is clean air compliant and that combined with sprayfoam insulation and double glazing keeps the boat warm and cosy.
I've worked with some incredible designers and makers to make the space beautiful, light and spacious and we've taken great care to make sustainable, hardwearing choices. All the wood used was fsc approved and the internal paint work is all earth paints. The floors are a mix of reclaimed mahogany parquet and slate from the lake district from Fired Earth.
There is a Japanese bath designed for two which handily becomes a table that can seat six and also a full-sized double bed that lifts up to give you more space in the daytime. The water tanks are 880l and catering grade plastic. So plenty of water for baths!
The engine is a Lister diesel which has been recently re-serviced and has new filters and 200l fuel tanks that have just been cleaned out. The starter motor was completed rebuilt in 2016.
The entire superstructure was completely rebuilt five years ago and at that time I had it sprayfoamed and double glazed so it is cool in summer and warm in winter. She has recently been dry-docked and repainted in two pack epoxy above and below the waterline. She has a full set of new magnesium anodes too.
Inside she has brand new warm led lighting that is dimmable and 13a household sockets with usb ports for charging phones easily. With solar panels, then engine and an lpg converted generator then you have everything you need to keep the two leisure batteries and the starter battery topped up.
All in all she is in a great and cosy home for one or a couple. The mooring runs alongside the boat and has a seventy foot garden with a fig tree, roses, raspberries and a mulberry bush.
The marina has newly built showers, toilets and a laundry. There is also a water point, chandlery with gas, diesel and a very friendly cruising club with a bar open most nights. The mooring is between the marshes, springfield park, markfield park and the reservoirs so it is really peaceful for such a central london location.
