After 8 years of ownership, my narrowboat Caelmiri is going to be up for sale.
55ft trad stern narrowboat, which has seen the north and the south - I took her up to Yorkshire in 2019 and back down to London in 2024.
Caelmiri was built in 1990 by Glastron Carlson.
In 2023, she had a full back-to-metal repaint with 2 pack epoxy, in April 2025 she had a brand new Rinnai hot water heater installed and at the start of October 2025, a set of four new 110Ah domestic batteries.
A lovely new bathroom with a porcelain bowl cassette toilet by Thetford (C262 CWE with 3 cassettes) was fitted in 2024 and a pull out king-sized bed with both under and over bed storage was fitted when the repaint was done. A large new kitchen with plenty of worktop space and cupboards, and new flooring in the galley and lounge area was fitted in 2021.
A 240v fridge is installed in the kitchen, however there is a 12v supply to the kitchen that could be used to fit a 12v fridge instead.
The two oven (combination grill/oven on the top oven) and 4 hob cooker is LPG.
2 x 435w solar panels at the front and 2 x 175w solar panels at the back.
Vetus m4.14 engine, which has been faultless. A new fuel pump and alternator (40amp) have been fitted this year (2025).
Regularly serviced and maintained (and will be due her usual engine service before the end of the year).
Victron Phoenix 12/1200W inverter and Victron Phoenix 12/50 battery charger.
Heating is provided by a Morso Squirrel 1410 stove at the front of the boat.
The saloon has a very comfy Sofabed Barn Canterbury sofa bed which opens up to an almost double bed for when your friends and family come to visit you.
Hot water is supplied by the Rinnai LPG gas heater and there is also an under bed calorifier.
An anchor and navigation lights will allow you to cruise rivers as well as the canal and a highlight of my boating life was taking Caelmiri up the Thames from Limehouse to Brentford with the St. Pancras Cruising Club in June 2025.
She's had a lot of updates and modernisations done over the past 5 years and is a fantastic boat for a liveaboard.
Would welcome any interest or viewings.
