Here we have a project shell build that the current owner is forced to sell. Initially built as a hull only, he was going to build a wooden superstructure. Due to ill health and terrible weather, that idea eventually became us fabricating a steel cabin, sides and roof for the owner. Further poor health is now forcing the sale of his beloved project.
Originally built by Martin Jones in Stourport, the hull is built to be driven by an outboard. An outboard well is built into the transom. Ribs for strength are installed along the bottom and sides. A basic floor has been laid.
Red oxide coating to original internal hull build only, not the superstructure or exterior, where mill scale remains.
The rear deck is steel checker plate, as is the bow plate. No built in tanks allow for ultra flexibility when fitting out. Both the bow and stern area offer large spaces for water tanks and other storage or siting of equipment.
No windows have been cut although there is a door opening at both fore and aft ends. Again, windows need cutting into the bulkheads if required.
Otherwise, it is all as shown in the photographs.
A great opportunity to pick up a small hull and complete to your own design.
The construction certification is not known. It is unlikely to have any RCD Annexe certification as yet. All completed boats must be CE marked. Once complete this project and a post construction assessment will likely be required before the boat could be used on the waterways.
