The Parker 235 Lift Keel is a remarkably capable shallow draft cruising yacht that offers far more than her compact dimensions might suggest. Designed by Bill Parker, the Parker 235 combines rewarding sailing performance with genuine cruising accommodation and the versatility of a lifting keel and road trailer.
Don't mistake the Parker 235 for a simple dayboat or trailer sailer. With her keel lowered she is a capable coastal cruising yacht, while raising the keel opens up shallow harbours, creeks and anchorages that are inaccessible to
many conventional yachts. At the end of the season, she can even be taken home on her trailer, potentially avoiding the considerable cost of year-round marina storage.
The accommodation is particularly clever for a yacht of this size, with a full-beam double berth aft and comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to four. There is a separate heads compartment and an unusually generous storage
locker forward, making the Parker 235 a genuinely practical proposition for weekends and coastal cruising.
This very smart example of the Parker 235 Lift Keel is particularly well presented and boasts a road trailer, standing rigging replaced in 2024, a 2024 6hp outboard engine, solar panel, and new seacocks fitted in 2024.

OWNER'S COMMENTS
Our sailing journey began pretty late in life and Amainiris was our first boat. We started out doing a couple of flotillas and lots of bareboat charters while we were working, but owning a boat had to wait until we retired.
The decision of what to buy was a bit daunting, so we took lots of advice. Parkers came out on top with whoever we spoke to, and we were lucky enough to find Amainiris pretty quickly. The first thing that struck us when we stepped aboard was how much space there was in the cockpit and saloon, and particularly the size of the aft berth. We knew almost instantly that she was right for us.
Apart from the space, a big attraction was the lifting keel and rudder. Reducing our draft enabled us to explore the shallows of Poole Harbour, while her sporty performance meant we could have plenty of fun outside the harbour too.
After our first year of mainly pottering around the harbour, we started attending rallies and discovered what a turn of speed she has, often keeping pace with much bigger boats. She has also proved very capable in gusty conditions. On one memorable rally we encountered 30 knots around St Alban's Head and, while many of the other boats were dropping their sails and resorting to their engines, Amainiris carried on sailing under two reefs and brought us home comfortably. She became much admired by our fellow rally sailors and earned herself the nickname **'Pocket Rocket'.**
She's no slouch in light winds either. We have a cruising chute which, with its snuffer, we found surprisingly straightforward to use even as relative novices. The extra turn of speed when it fills is fantastic!
We had never intended to do quite so much with Amainiris. Our original idea was simply to have a boat we could stay aboard overnight from time to time, but by our second season we were heading off on rallies from Portland to Cowes and everywhere in between. Before long we found ourselves spending weeks at a time aboard.
We added a solar panel, which is capable of powering an electric coolbox — a great addition to her equipment and a perfect fit beneath the companionway steps.
We have really looked after Amainiris, both on and off the water, including many hours of fun (!) crawling underneath her each winter improving the hull and keel finish, together with professional attention to the engine servicing, seacocks and other maintenance.
It has been a huge decision to sell her so soon because we are still having such an amazing time with her, whether roaming around the local bays or simply finding somewhere quiet to anchor and swimming off the back. We've had so much fun and so many great experiences aboard.
We still have plenty to learn, but we're now at the stage where we'd like to venture a little further afield. As we're getting on a bit, we've decided it's time for a boat with even more space and a little more equipment.
We're hoping Amainiris finds a new owner who wants to get out there and sail her, because she really is a fabulous and incredibly versatile little yacht.
