FEISTY - A Yacht with a Story

Built in 1997 as one of the final Sadler 29s produced, she combines everything that has made the design so enduringly respected: reassuring seakeeping, practical accommodation and timeless lines. Yet what makes Feisty exceptional is not simply the yacht herself—it is the way she has been cared for.

With only two owners from new, documented provenance from Bowman Yachts, Lloyd's Registration and an extensive programme of professional improvements carried out by recognised marine specialists, she represents a rare opportunity to acquire a Sadler 29 whose history is every bit as impressive as her condition.

Purchased by her current owner in 2014 from the original owner, Feisty has never been viewed as a project. Every improvement has been made with sympathy for the original design and with a clear philosophy: preserve what David Sadler created while enhancing reliability, comfort and ease of ownership for modern cruising.

Today she is offered reluctantly, not because there is anything left to do, but simply because life has changed. She now waits for a new owner to appreciate the same qualities that have made her such a rewarding yacht to own.

Accommodation

Below Decks - Descending the companionway, the atmosphere changes immediately. Warm timber, carefully maintained joinery and beautifully fitted upholstery combine to create an interior that is both traditional and refreshingly timeless.

The professionally upholstered seating by Comfort Afloat of Gosport, complemented by bespoke curtains and sympathetic interior detailing, creates a saloon that is immediately welcoming.

Natural light floods the cabin through the recently refurbished windows, while discreet LED lighting provides a warm ambience during evenings aboard.

The Galley - The modern Plastimo cooker, Isotherm refrigeration and generous storage combine with thoughtfully organised work surfaces to create a galley that is equally capable of preparing a simple lunch at anchor or a hot meal after a day's sailing.

Thoughtfully crafted teak storage for plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery reflects the owner's attention to detail, providing practical solutions that enhance everyday life afloat without compromising the yacht's character.

The Cockpit - The addition of the genuine Lagun Marine removable teak swivel table transforms the space when at anchor or alongside, creating an inviting area for dining, planning the next day's passage or simply enjoying the surroundings. When removed, the cockpit returns to its uncluttered working layout in seconds.

The recently renewed Lewmar self-tailing winches, quality canvas work and thoughtfully arranged controls all reinforce the same impression.

Equipment

Electrical Systems - Hidden behind the joinery lies one of the most significant improvements carried out during the refit.

Rather than simply replacing individual components, the electrical system was comprehensively renewed by Seapower Electronics.

New wiring, a redesigned switch panel, upgraded navigation lighting, mast lighting, engine bay lighting and carefully planned electrical distribution transformed one of the least visible, yet most important, systems aboard the yacht.

Ground Tackle - Feisty carries a 7.5kg (16.5lb) stainless steel Claw anchor together with 60 feet of calibrated chain and a further 60 feet of anchor warp, handled by a manual anchor windlass.

An Ambassador Marine rope stripper provides additional reassurance under power, reducing the risk of fouled warps around the propeller.

Navigation Equipment

The Navigation Station - To starboard, the navigation area reflects the same philosophy seen throughout the yacht.

Modern electronics have been integrated sympathetically, creating a navigation station that remains practical, uncluttered and easy to use.

The comprehensive Raymarine instrumentation, Autohelm ST1000+ autopilot, Furuno GPS navigator and Icom VHF provide the confidence expected for extended coastal cruising while preserving the traditional feel of the yacht.

Engineering

At the heart of Feisty lies a Volvo D1-20 diesel engine, installed in 2007 and professionally removed, serviced and reinstalled during the comprehensive refit undertaken in 2015.

The engine compartment reflects the same attention to detail found throughout the yacht. Halyard acoustic insulation reduces engine noise while improving the overall quality of the installation, and the engine space remains exceptionally clean, accessible and well organised.

Rigging and Deck Hardware

Above deck, equal attention was given to ensuring long-term reliability.

Standing rigging was professionally renewed by ZSpars UK, while every deck fitting was removed, inspected and re-bedded in her major in refit 2015.

All stanchions were similarly removed and professionally re-bedded, while skin fittings were fully serviced during the programme of works.

Marine-grade stainless steel components were used wherever replacement was required, preserving both the appearance and integrity of the yacht.

Additional refinements, including the custom stainless steel stemhead protection by Mr Stainless and the inclusion of a removable baby stay, further demonstrate that improvements were chosen for practical cruising rather than cosmetic effect.
