Marion is a historic wooden motor sailor built by the Largs boatyard on the Clyde in 1937. Built of pitch pine planking over an oak frame she has a Gaff mounted sail coupled with a 3-cylinder Lister diesel engine (circa 1960} driving a single shaft mounted 11” propellor.
For a number of years she was used as the “Safety Boat” for the Largs sailing club before going into private ownership.
She has capacity for up to 8 passengers and has a purpose built focsle which contains:
1. Manually operated sea toilet
2. Chart table
3. 2 x gas hob
4. Small fitted sink unit
5. 2 x seating units which convert to single bunk
Marion has been part of the Blackshed Trip Boats and is licensed to carry up to 8 passengers,she is a versatile vessel and can be used for a variety of uses
