I have on lived on Cherrybite for 3 years whilst working in Central London. I am selling now because I own a flat in Suffolk and have just been told I can work from home. There is plenty of gas, water and fuel onboard, and it's in very good working order so you can simply buy it and off you go. The boat itself is spacious, efficient, comfortable and functional. It has been steadily re-engineered over recent years with lots of new equipment including hot water boiler, stove, engine and gearbox. Everything works well and the boat is in excellent working order generally. There is plenty of storage space and has a strong, reliable build. It's been kitted out to suit the needs of a continuous cruiser.
|Model:||46 Semi Trad|
|Engine model:||Hatz Diesel L-Series 2L|
|Drive type:||Shaft drive|
|Length over all:||14m|
The engine is 2 cylinder air cooled Hatz diesel and this was fitted with new gearbox in 2003. It is a really reliable and efficient engine and the absence of water cooling means so much less worry about leaky gaskets and over-heating. It is in superb condition, doesn't use much oil, and fuel consumption incredibly low. I have replaced the controls and cables and everything works well. Batteries charge fine, alternator working well. I recently changed the filters, changed the oil and topped up the gear oil.
The hull was replated in 2008, last blacked autumn 2017. Approximately 46 feet in length. The aft deck cover was replaced last year and deckboards were put in by me 2 years ago. Cratch (front) cover has had new zips and been serviced recently so all working well. There is a forward compartment designed for storing 3 propane gas bottles and pipework is all in good condition. There is a large water tank at the front under the fwd deck. I recently replaced most of the windows and they are in good condition.
I have constructed a large single bed at the rear and there is another single bed in the middle near the fire place which is ideal for winter - The rear floor area has been recently re-configured ready for a fold up double bed - on the list of things to do! As you can see there is a large study area with map table at the front, with seating. The windows have popper fitted blinds throughout, which roll up if need be. They give both privacy and insulation, while also providing excellent light transmission.
There is a Morco F11-E instantaneous water heater (boiler) installed in 2013 and gas cooker, both running off propane gas. Hot showers are no problem and I have built a wet room with thermostatic shower. I have fitted LED lighting throughout. There are USB charging points and cigarette lighter sockets throughout the boat. Sterling 300w pure sine inverter, digital charging unit and monitor fitted 2013. I have fitted 3 new leisure batteries and they are kept topped up by a solar panel and MPPT controller and monitor, fitted 2 years ago. There is a 4KW Boatman Stove onboard (I have recently moved it and I still need to fit the flue!). I have recently replaced most of the flooring with tongue and groove pine flooring as shown. There is a 12v electric coolbox for keeping perishables cool in summer. I have installed LED lights in the food cupboard and above the work surface by the cooker.
3 Fire Extinguishers, fire towels, 2x Carbon Monoxide alarms. Boat Certificate renewed 1 year ago, 1 year left but it will pass fine - just a formality getting it done.
