“Tamara” is a light and cosy sanctuary, with a mooring at Springfield Marina, E5 9BL on the River Lee.
The Marina is part of the Hackney & Walthamstow Marshes nature reserve, surrounded by open skies, trees & fields, but a 15 minute walk from Clapton station with all of Hackney & east London’s vibrancy on its doorstep.
The Marina itself is very secure with fob access, and has a range of modern facilities including a toilet and shower block, laundry room, working boatyard and chandlery.
There’s a friendly, lively community, and a volunteer run bar which hosts live music, comedy & film nights, alongside yoga classes & craft workshops. You can be as involved or not, as you like, but there’s always someone passing who’s happy to have a chat!
“Tamara” has a new BSC valid until 02/05/2027, and is fitted with a Vetus diesel engine, which starts on the button.
A new gearbox was installed in 2018, and both batteries were replaced 2023.
The boat was fertanned and the blacking & anodes were done in Nov 2021, and a full repaint in 2020.
At the 2018 survey by Pete Crispin, he reported that the hull is in “good condition with minimal repairs needed”.
Mooring fees at the marina are £383.76 PCM and also include bins, recycling, water and showers.
The marina-required boat insurance has been renewed and paid for the next year. There’s a galvanic isolater, hook up electric on a pre-paid meter, water tanks and a water point outside.
This is a great little boat, well laid-out, in great condition and with a safe, secure mooring in an incredible location.
It’s the best of both worlds - a place of calm, sanctuary in the middle of vibrant East London.
