Tradewind 35, professionally and meticulously prepared, that was due to enter the 2022 Golden Globe Race but due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, was unable to compete.

This boat was stripped of all its fittings. The chart table and loo area were refigured. The engine and prop shaft were taken out, engine rebuilt. Steering pedestal and rudder totally refurbished. Fuel removed, cleaned, wells tested. Batteries relocated to the centre of the boat. Additional bulkheads and strengthening of bulkheads to take stainless steel brackets fitted to take reinforced rigging D rings. Boat totally rewired with water tight switchboard fitted. All plumbing work replaced together with seacocks. Mast fitting refigured to enable mast to be keel stepped. All stanchions replaced with 32 mm stainless steel and at a height of 32 ins. New 32 mm handrails fitted to coach roof and fore deck. New stem head fitting fitted together with new bobstay bracket at waterline. New hydrovane fitted to reinforced transom. New stainless steel plates fitted for trailing a drogue. Hatches all removed and refurbished. A perspex dome fitted for all round visibility when inside the cabin. A new Wallas two ring electrical paraffin stove fitted. New stainless steel galley top. New sink and shelves fitted in loo. New folding prop fitted. New heavy duty Sparcraft. New standing and running rigging. New sails. New depth meter, AIS VHF fitted.

This boat has remained in the shed since being refurbished. Mast, sails and rigging all in their original packing.

Everything has been done to the highest specification to ensure that this boat can complete the course for the next GGR and is ready to go once launched. In addition the boat is well suited to any blue water sailing crossing oceans.

It is essential that this boat is inspected to appreciate the standard of work and preparation that has been put into this boat to be a successful contender in the last Golden Globe Race around the World.
