Designed by Laurent Giles, and introduced in 1972, the Westerly Longbow is a solid coastal or offshore cruiser, built like all Westerly's of the period, to Lloyds specification and fitted out as a spacious family boat. Although the same hull was used by other models, to me the Longbow with her fin keel, ketch rig and aft cockpit, seems to have eliminated most of the compromises you are usually faced with when deciding on a cruising boat.
