Misty Lady is a historic boat, registered with the national historic ships, as a good example of FB Wilds Bermuda Class cruiser from 1969. The Bermuda was developed following the introduction of the original Caribbean class in 1966. Misty Lady was built for the FB Wilds hireboat fleet in Horning, Norfolk and sold to a private owner at a later date. For the last twenty years the boat has been based at Hebden Bridge and from 2018 to 2023 was operated as an Airbnb rental and featured on Escape to the Country among other press! Renovated internally in 2024 she is now available for sale on Mayroyd Moorings in the picturesque town of Hebden Bridge.
A wonderfully comfortable boat, Misty Lady would be well suited either to live on or as pied-a-terre for visiting picturesque Hebden Bridge and the stunning countryside of West Yorkshire. Conveniently located a few minutes walk from the railway station and town centre, Misty Lady is currently sitting on Mayroyd Moorings with post, electric and water facilities. There is also a fantastic community within the moorings, which communally maintains chickens and a lock-side garden. Misty Lady herself has a private seating and garden area (with a beautiful cherry blossom tree) on the mooring along with a shed for additional storage space.
It should also be possible to restart Misty Lady as an Airbnb and she has a hire boat BSS certificate valid until October 2026. The website/domain and booking.com accounts are also transferable if desired. (Airbnb listings are non-transferable but it is possible to cross-reference the old listing).
Misty Lady does require some further improvements, principally to be re-painted as the paintwork has started to peel in numerous places and some external repairs to ironmongery. Internally the stove also needs an extensive renovation or replacement. Overall she would suit someone looking for a comfortable place to live or stay over in Hebden Bridge with the enthusiasm to take on maintaining and tinkering with this wonderful historic boat. Please note that as part of the conversion to an Airbnb, controls for the engine have been removed and it hasn't been run since. She is sold on a permanently moored basis, although the original Perkins 4108 engine is still in situ and should be capable of restoration if wanted.
