The history of the Falmouth Working Boats is legendary with a good sized fleet still fishing and racing under sail off the coast of South-West Cornwall. In the late 1970âs the traditional Fal Boats were being considered as a design for cruising yachts with Ro-An-Mor being one of the first GRP versions of the Falmouth Working Boats. The design revised by Frank Argall from Carn Dhu , a Rodney Warrington Smythe yacht dating from the 1920âs and built in Portleven. The Falmouth Working Boats have survived as a class because of the oyster fishing which has continued in the river Fal for hundreds of years. The native oysters are grown in the shallow waters of the upper reaches of the river and must only be dredged under sail or oar by law.

This yacht is one for the more traditional yachtsman. She is a much admired class of boat with good sea keeping qualities.
She has the benefit of having a new engine fitted a few years ago so she is reliable and can motor at a good pace against an adverse tide.
She has recently been relaunched and has had her standing rigging changed, with a new furling system fitted. A new mainsail has also been fitted,
