Seamaster 815 yacht project boat
£750
With a reputation for solid, well-built boats, Seamaster was one of the largest boat builders in the 1960s and 1970s producing a wide range of sailing yachts and motor boats. The Seamaster 815 was in production from 1976 to 1981 and a total of 136 were built. Designed by Holman and Pye, the Seamaster 815 took on a much more modern style than was traditionally seen from the Seamaster stable, yet the 815 model retained the company's reputation for dependable boats. "Staffin" is one of the last Seamaster 815s to be built, having left the factory in 1981. This family cruising yacht is the fin keel variant, and boasts an open and airy interior with a maximum internal headroom of 1.8m (5'10"). The hull is a moderate displacement hull, and the design has sufficient sail area to give good performance. Soft furnishings and some internal joinery will be required to complete. The boat presents a fantastic opportunity for affordable cruising for someone with the ability to complete the interior refit, and re-install an engine if required or adapt her for an outboard engine.
