After the successful 115’ Athena, flagship of the fleet since 2005, Riva continues its adventure in the megayacht segment, with a refined model: 92’ Duchessa.
Curved, racy lines harmoniously design the profile of this yacht which encloses all the elegance of Riva style in her 28 metres, as always in a solution featuring its unique, original design. Mauro Micheli’s pencil, the work of his team at Officina Italiana Design and Riva’s Technical Office have once again managed to sketch a winning yacht.
The Duchessa
The slightly raised pilot station is equipped with last generation instruments, and features a comfortable dinette for the crew with direct access to the flybridge and galley, the latter of which is completely accessorised and set lower on an intermediary level. A utility room has been created under the pilot station, where additional household appliances can be fitted. Alternatively, it can be used as a storage area. At bow, the galley provides access to the three crew cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms. They can accommodate a total of five people, i.e. a captain and four crew members. Definition of a completely separate area for on-board staff, accessible directly through the two doors which open out onto the side gangways, guarantees total privacy for owners and their guests. Moreover, the low set galley and crew rooms have made it possible to optimise the space available in the lower salon, too, to create four large cabins amidships.
The wide master cabin is located astern, but separated from the engine room by the remote control area accessed from the cockpit and the large, full beam bathroom located behind the bed. Fitted with a shower and jacuzzi, said bathroom guarantees total comfort and quietness. The owner cabin features a walk-in wardrobe and vanity unit, and is well-lit by two large, rectangular windows fitted on either side. Portholes at each end make it possible to air the environment naturally. Another two pairs of twin windows light the two guest cabins and the VIP cabin, too, not negatively influencing the outer design of the yacht, but rather integrating into it perfectly. The two twin guest cabins, featuring parallel beds, are set amidships and the windows ensure they are well-lit, whilst the towards bow VIP cabin is also full beam, almost making it another master cabin.
The classical cockpit features a large teak table which can seat up to eight, thanks to a comfortable sofa and four foldable chairs, the latter of which can be stored in the base of the table. An elegant stairway to the right provides easy access to the flybridge. A second, smaller living-room has been created at bow, where a teak table with a six-seater sofa and the sundeck are located, the latter has been enlarged to accommodate up to four people and can be shaded by an awning with easy manual opening.
All the cabins feature en-suite bathrooms, whilst the day bathroom is on the upper floor
A brand new feature on a Riva model, the flybridge is surmounted by a fibreglass hard top, whose sharp line inclined towards bow gives continuity to the yacht’s general profile, making her more aerodynamic and elegant. Moreover, the special advanced shape of the hard top makes it possible to use the layout of the flybridge better, providing shade from the sun’s rays sun at the pilot station and a small living-area, formed of two sofas and a teak table able to seat up to eight. A centrally-fitted jacuzzi, which can be replaced by a smart mobile bar in the optional version separates it from the sundeck. The grill and washbasin, on the other hand, are set towards stern, in order to make sure owners and their guests are disturbed as little as possible. Moreover, the size of the flybridge means it can be equipped with a tender measuring up to 4.20 m in length, handled using a small crane.
Another special feature of this model is the garage. Closed by a foldable door, it can house a tender measuring max. 3.20 m or a jet-ski. When lowered, a chaise-longue on runners can be placed inside the garage, creating another area for relaxation, suspended directly over the water.
Two ARG 4000 stabilisers guarantee the stability of the yacht both when moored and at sea, whilst the exclusive advanced entertainment system enables those aboard to play the same videos and music in both the salon and master cabin.
The opportunity to choose from a wide range of fabrics specially studied by Riva’s Style Office and add commercially available items to the furnishings, make the 92’ Duchessa an out and out semi-custom megayacht, able to respond to the requirements of the most demanding owners.
