Beautifully converted traditional Dutch Tjalk with large living space accommodation, providing a very comfortable and spacious live-aboard set up.
The barge was originally converted in 1992, but substantial works have been undertaken by the current owners. They have invested heavily in updating after buying her in 2017 with extensive out-of-water works, including an entirely new steel over-plated hull with epoxy coating completed by the highly skilled MSO Marine shipyard in Brentford London to provide a comfortable live-aboard barge for (as their 2019 surveyor mentioned in a report) “…decades to come…” In addition, they have upgraded her to a modern remote controlled central heating and hot water system powered by a new Heritage Range style cooker / diesel boiler. This has been serviced annually since it’s 2018 installation, along with a premium Clearview wood-burning stove and double-glazed windows throughout the forward cabin.
The current owners invested heavily to make her their future-proofed home which they have enjoyed with their two children. They are only now selling due to relocating for work where the barge is unable to accompany them. They have loved living aboard her and hope someone else can enjoy her as much as they have.
The 2nd cabin is being shown in its original set up with a double bed, she currently has two single toddler beds, but the book shelves in this image are staying, so the double bed image is the most representative of her space.
