This is a great opportunity to acquire a relatively unused and very manageable sized wide beam, ideal for someone who wants to cruise the wide canals and rivers of the UK, Ireland or even continental Europe without the mooring and licencing costs usually associated with larger vessels. The addition of bespoke fore and aft Titan canopies has extended the living areas creating extra space for work, cruising, outdoor entertaining and relaxation.  Built as a sailaway by Dave Clarke Boats, Newark in 2019, the fit-out was interrupted a couple of times during 2020 and 2021 before being transported to Ely in July 2021 where it was completed by the second owner. Now in the hands of its third owner, Late Life Luxury has had very low usage and is now on the market as they wish to buy a smaller narrow boat for single-handed cruising. The hull was re-blacked and new anodes fitted in April 2024, which should ensure several years of use free of out of water maintenance.

Accommodation

The spacious aft deck has a bespoke Titan canopy with separate zipped side panels for ease of access and removable front and back panels for cruising and ventilation whilst retaining protection from the elements. There is good access to the engine bay, batteries, calorifier tank and LPG locker. Double doors with a sliding hatch midships leads down steps to-:
Galley to starboard - fitted base units, wall mounted cupboard, crockery racks, ceramic tiling, wood effect laminate work top, free-standing fridge/freezer (under-counter) and LPG cooker, microwave oven, window with venetian blind.
WC to port - a space saving sliding door, built-in shower cubicle with tiled wall panels and thermostatic mixer tap, composting toilet,  work top with surface mounted wash basin and mixer tap, wall tiling, washer/dryer beneath, large mirrored cabinet above, port hole window, hanging rails, electric wall mounted heater.

The flexible and contemporary open-plan interior is light, bright and airy, with a mixture of finishes including grey, wood effect and panelled side linings, white tongue and groove head lining, laminate and vinyl flooring, LED spot lighting, wall lights, window blinds and port hole bungs. All appliances and furniture are free-standing making it easy for a new owner to alter the layout to suit personal needs and preferences.

Construction

Welded mild steel plate - 10mm base, 6mm hull sides and decks/gunwales, 4mm cabin sides and roof. Alloy framed single glazed windows and port holes, steel hand rails, cleats, integral LPG locker (bow), aft sliding hatch, stern, bow and half doors.  Dark blue painted cabin sides, decks, topsides and roof and hull blacking. Titan manufactured dark blue acrylic cratch and pram hoods with zipped panels and stainless steel frames (all new in November 2021). Internally, spray foam insulation, ply and tongue and groove linings, hardwood window and port hole frames, timber bulkheads, laminate and vinyl flooring. Having been re-blacked and fitted with new anodes in April 2024, Late Life Luxury should not require any out of water maintenance for at least another few years.

Barrus Shire 40hp diesel engine coupled to a PRM hydraulic gearbox on to a conventional shaft drive. Single lever engine control, tachometer, engine hour, temperature, oil pressure, charging and glow plug warning lights. Twin alternators (150A and 240A). Engine hours 54 (initial service/commissioning carried out at 1.5 hours).

Electrics

12v – 1 x engine battery, 5 x domestic batteries (all 96Ah), Whale Gulper 220 shower drain pump, domestic water pump, LED cabin lighting, 2 x automatic bilge pumps (new in 2024), horn, spot light.
240v – shore power connection, consumer unit, Victron 3kW inverter/charger, plug sockets, domestic appliances (fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, heaters), wall lights.

Certification

Boat Safety Certificate expires 08/05/2025.
