Description

This is a lovely boat, first built on the south coast (Shoreham I believe) for the Navy, in 1969, and worked as a fast harbour launch in Gibralter and possibly Malta up until the turn of the (21st) century. There is an association with the navy ship "HMS Collingwood", hence the name, but I think it more likely that the association is with the training establishment HMS Collingwood in Portsmouth. She was brought back to this country and used for training up until the time the Navy sold her. There is much paperwork concerning refits etc.
She was bought in 2010 and converted to a sea angling boat. She was originally a centre cockpit, aft cabin boat. The engine was rebuilt, the wheelhouse extended and the aft cabin removed making a fishing area for several rods. All the interior was rebuilt and finished off installing shore power , GPS and VHF, pulpit and guard rails, anchor winch, cockpit canopy and many other smaller items. First re-launched in April 2019. She pulls along nicely at 12-13knts courtesy of a Perkins 6354M Diesel (145hp according to survey). Last serviced in Oct 2023 by Aberystwyth Marina engineers. Vitra bow thruster eases manouverability.

GRP. Hull finished in black Orthophthalic gel coat and laid up by hand using directional mat and polyester resin in first layer and then further layer using same techinique. Strengthened by bonding in of transverse floors and longitudinal.
