Classic ‘Caribbean’ style broads cruiser, as architectural designers we undertook a 2 year structural and cosmetic rebuild of this classic design to create a beautiful, light and airy, off grid, mobile, living space on the water.
The broad’s cruiser design offers generous accommodation as well as some great design features making them easy to navigate and enjoy on the water as a boat, as well as a beautiful and comfortable live aboard space. Including generous wide decks for walking around the entire boat, allowing easy and safe access on and off when mooring or maneuvering. The main feature for us was the helm being at the front of the boat adjacent to the generous seating well within the bow, which can easy seat six plus people, allowing you to navigate the boat where you have most visibility, whilst being at the front enjoying the journey with your friends, away from the noise of the engine. All in all a great, lightweight, easy to navigate, sociable, fun boat, offering off grid living as well as enjoyable boating,
She has undergone a complete rebuild and refit. The entire rebuild was overseen by Southern Marine Surveys, 20 page survey and report available on request detailing the works complete. I’ve listed some of the works below, no doubt I will have missed something, feel free to ask any questions and I have lots of pictures of the build available on request/will be provided with the sale. In general, she has undergone a complete, mechanical, electrical, structural and cosmetic refit with all new systems throughout, she needs nothing and is ready to enjoy.
Substructure
Replace and re-fiberglass structural solid core stringers and ribs throughout. (Rotten cores are common on this type of boat – for peace of mind and boat longevity the entire sole has been replaced) marine ply floor deck, glassed in to the boat. Photos available,
The hull had suffered from a failed barrier coat underneath, below the water line. We had the barrier coat stripped, the hull was left to dry out, low moisture readings are detailed within the report. A new barrier coat was then applied of 4x coats high build epoxy, 1xpimer and then 3x coats of antifoul – new antifoul this year,
Reconditioned propeller, new anodes this year, new cutless bearing, new stern gland.

Water
New water tanks, plumbing and pumps throughout
Dedicated tank for the kitchen, hidden behind units. Hot and cold, fed off immersion tank that heats from the engine when running, or separate electric immersion. In line water filter.
Separate tank under bed to serve the bathroom. Hot and cold fed of Alde Gas/electric boiler as heating details below.
Heating
Alde heating 3020 compact electric/gas boiler. Gas locker holds 2x 13kg propane gas bottles that feed the boiler and kitchen gas hobs for when on the move/off grid. The boiler can also run off electric if shore power is available/on the generator.
New central heating, plumbing and pumps throughout. Boiler serves 3 x domestic radiators, within the lounge, bathroom and bedroom. Providing nice, comfortable, quiet space heating (not hot air blown). All pipes are thermally lagged to minimize heat loss and increase efficiency.
Custom – Insulated throughout, walls, floor and roof with vapor barriers. Ensuring the boat holds heat in the winter and reflects heat in summer, allowing a year round comfortable and energy efficient living space. This effective management of heat loss ensures the boat doesn’t suffer with condensation, damp or mold. The boat is always dry and comfortable, all year round.
Insulated roof – 100mm PIR rigid insulation laid over original roof, with vapour barrier, Marine ply framing, fiberglass finish, 2 layers of 450 CSM, epoxy flow coat.
Insulated Walls – Internally walls are studded out with CLS throughout. 50mm PIR rigid insulation between studs. Custom Scandi style beautiful birch ply finish, with hidden hatches within the walls, to allow access under the side decks for storage, allowing lots of hidden useful storage space to allow a clutter free living space.
Insulated floor – PIR rigid insulation below marine ply floor deck, between stringers on spacers.
Secondary Glazing – removable, polycarbonate secondary glazing throughout, increased thermal efficiency and air tightness, keeping the boat warm, quiet and dry when in place. Easily removed for ventilation/airy feel when on the move.
Bathroom
AirHead composting toilet for off grid living, no need to find pump out facility or daily disposal of cassette toilets! Space available to install a holding tank if preferred.

She is currently on hard standing for easy viewing/inspection. Cost of Re-launch will be included within the sale.
At the end of the refit and renovation she was independently valued at fifty thousand with full report available. Since then she has had full central heating system installed, solar panel installation, fitted rubber backed carpet throughout, interior fit out.
