1925 Luxemotor Dutch Barge - £62,250

This unique vessel and home is rich in history, charm and style. It was requisitioned during the Second World War, appeared in a BBC documentary and was used by the RNLI for training. This has been the owner's home for over 20 years, during which time it has been a 'lovely liveaboard' adding "having cruised the east coast, France and Belgium, I know it is nice at sea and takes the ground well." 1905 Thames Sailing Barge 58ft - £199,995

Boatshed Essex are delighted to feature this delightful Sailing Barge, packed with history, modernisation, comfort and performance. Built in 1905, by Humphrey and Grey, in iron, she was a bonded, spirit barge, mainly carrying tea (unrigged). She had sweeps to navigate on the tides fitted, also with a rudder and tiller steering. From 1958 she became one of four training barges for, Lightermen on the River Thames, during which time she had a new bottom and rubbing band.
