'AMITY' It is with great sadness that we put our smack yacht up for sale. Unfortunately, it is not a practical boat for our disabled son, but in all other respects she is a fine vessel.
Built in 1981 by Frenches yard in Faversham she is 28' long and believed to be built on the lines of the smack yacht 'Secret', same as the Tyrell and Young yachts but built in ferro. A survey of the vessel described her as one of the best ferro cement craft
the owner had worked on.
Being ferro she is very stable and can handle a blow, in fact when others are reefing we are often only just taking our topsail down.
Sail wardrobe - Mail sail, Jack Yard Topsail, #1 Staysail, #2 Staysail, #1 Jib, #2 Jib (on roller furling gear) and Ghoster.
45lb CQR main mainstay with 80ft of 3/8" chain, hand-operated mainstay windlass, 26lb fisherman kedge anchor, boathook, mooring warps and fenders. Large sweep oar and rowlock position in cockpit. Heavy duty tiller clutch.
Wooden beaching legs mean she can be beached upright but also takes the bottom well for getting right under to paint.
Sestrel compass, echo sounder, VHF radio, Garmin GPS, tracking reflector, lifebuoys, safety harnesses, hand-operated fire extinguisher, hand-operated bilge pumps and auto bilge pump. 10w trickle charge solar panel. Samsung Galaxy Tab with Navionics. Seago inflatable tender. Lifting 19ft bowsprit making berthing cheaper. Recently serviced Beta 20hp with three bladed prop. Lazy Jacks and boom gallows make stowing the main single handed easy. Brand new mainsail cover made by northrop sails in Ramsgate.
Two berths in main saloon and two in forepeak. Baby Blake toilet, gas cooker with oven, centre fold up hardwood table with storage. Charcoal burner (only necessary on freezing winter nights)
'Amity' is a joy to sail and always draws attention wherever she goes, however, she could do with a lick of paint here and there - family commitments have meant that it has slid a little but a few days work and she will be looking smart again.
Any questions please ask.
